Last week we received a donation of supplies through the coordination efforts of Mutual Aid Disaster Relief, who also rented the trucks to transfer the supplies. In the picture below you can see about half of the supplies; not shown is a large quantity of additional cups, to-go food containers, gloves, and soap, which I stashed in the Food Not Bombs supply closet at the church. I recognize that these are currently in the gym, and we probably want to find a different place for them and to include using them in our upcoming planning. I also want to encourage church members to use these supplies, including offering them to others for their use. I’m going to write an email to Ellen shortly in order to share that information with other church members.
I looked up those Cambro insulated food carriers on their marketing website, and from the description they sound potentially useful for transporting food to our serving locations, such as our Thursday night garden events, while keeping the food either hot or cold. The site says “dishwasher safe”, but what dishwasher could take those things? So yeah, I’m curious about strategies for cleaning them.
